FORTY PLUS YEARS
OF FINANCIAL EXCELLENCE

(and a little bit of fun)

1973

Barney Chepenik starts Chepenik Financial. With a closet full of dreams, along with plenty of wide-lapel jackets and a few sweater vests, Barney offers health and life insurance through his one-man firm.

1980

Barney joins the "1 Percent Club," meaning he is in the top 39 of 3,900 insurance agents in the country.

1999

Jason Chepenik joins the team, bringing his expertise in financial planning, securities trading, corporate benefits planning – plus a few seersucker suits.

2005

Jennifer Kruger brings a new infusion of wealth management expertise to our firm and gets to have her cake too, since her first day is Barney’s birthday.

2008

Jason testifies to the Department of Labor ERISA Advisory Council offering recommendations for enhancing the retirement security of American workers

2011

The 401kWire names Jason one of the 100 Most Influential People in the Defined Contribution Industry

2012

The first annual Chepenik Financial Crawfish Boil is held. Hundreds of crawfish meet their doom.

Pam Cote officially joins the team as our Chief of Staff. And the whipping us all into shape begins.

2013

Sebastian, our Canine in Chief, assumes his rightful position under the conference table.

2014

Jason makes PLANADVISER’s list of Top 100 Retirement Plan Advisers for the first time (but not the last).

2015

The firm now serves more than 50,000 eligible retirement plan participants. Our new partnership with Resources Investment Advisors brings greater resources to our team and clients.

We launch the first 4.01K Race for Financial Fitness™ in Orlando. The team breaks a few sweats putting the event together, but it’s all worth it when we raise more than $10,000 for the Junior Achievement of Central Florida.

Jorge Pereira joins the team as our new Director of Client Education. Plan sponsors and participants, prepare to be schooled.

2017

Jason named one of Financial Times Top 401k Retirement Advisers (again).

The 4.01k Race for Financial Fitness™ expands to seven cities and raises more than $250,000 for Junior Achievements across the nation.

Christian Campen comes on board. Our firm’s retirement plan expertise and client satisfaction hits record highs.

Stacia Apostolos joins the firm, wasting no time retooling our operations and implementing a next-level service approach.

2039

Barney turns 100 and finally retires.
